The PetBowl Tilt Bowl

Floor bowls make small dogs bend, gulp and bring food back up. This one lifts dinner to him, so he eats with his head up and keeps it down.

Better than others I've used

I bought this to replace a clay food dish. It's easier to clean, at the correct height, and eliminated eating discomfort. A nice bowl at a great height and dishwasher safe. Reasonably priced.

A small senior dog eating from a floor bowl, head below the shoulders, kibble on the floor

Every meal is a push-up.

Watch your dog eat from a floor bowl. His head goes down to his paws, his neck bends, and his front legs take most of his weight. The food slides to the far side, so he pushes the bowl around the floor to reach it and gulps what he can get. Sometimes it comes straight back up. He does this twice a day. Older dogs feel it most: they stop to rest halfway through, or walk away and leave food in the bowl.

Why it works

Dinner comes up to him, and toward him.

A small dog at a floor bowl, head downFloor bowl
  • Head below the shoulders.
  • Food pushed to the back.

  • Neck level.
  • Food waits at the front edge.

  1. 01

    Raised

The bowl sits up where his mouth already is, so he doesn't bend down to eat.

  2. 02

    Tilted

The bowl leans toward him, so the food gathers at the front edge. With nothing to chase around the bowl, he takes his time and clears it.

  3. 03

    Steel

Easy to keep clean, and it won't scratch or hold smells the way plastic does.

The slick film on a plastic bowl next to a clean steel bowl
Why steel

It was never the food. It was the bowl.

Run a finger around a plastic bowl that was washed yesterday. That slippery film is bacteria, and it builds up in the scratches plastic picks up over time. It's one reason some dogs sniff a full bowl and walk away, or get a rash on the chin. Steel doesn't scratch the same way, so the film has nowhere to hold on. A hot wash clears it.

Made for small dogs.
Every kind of eater.

Sized for dogs up to about 20 lb, or about 12 in at the shoulder: Chihuahuas, Dachshunds, Shih Tzus, Pugs, Frenchies, Yorkies, Maltese and mixes that size.

Stiff necks and slower at the bowl. Eating with his head up is easier.

  2. A French Bulldog eating from the tilted bowl
    02

    Pugs, Frenchies and Shih Tzus

The tilt brings food to the front, so a short nose can reach all of it.

  3. A Boston Terrier eating from the bowl with the slow-feed insert
    03

    Fast eaters

The food stays at the front edge, so there's nothing to chase and gulp down. Fewer meals come back up.

    04

    Messy eaters

The bowl sits on the mat and stays put, and the kibble stays in the bowl.

Soft silicone that grips the floor, so the bowl stays where you put it. The raised edge catches spilled kibble and water drips before they reach the floor. Rinse it or put it in the dishwasher.

Need to know

Frequently asked
questions.

Dogs that bring food back up are often eating with their head down and gulping to keep up with food that slides away. With this bowl he eats with his head up, and the tilt keeps the food at the front edge, so he can take his time. If it keeps happening, or he's losing weight, see your vet.

It's made for dogs up to about 20 lb, or about 12 in at the shoulder: Chihuahuas, Yorkies, Maltese, Shih Tzus, Dachshunds, Pugs and Frenchies. The bowl holds about 1.25 cups, enough for a small dog's meal. For bigger dogs it sits too low to help.

Most dogs eat from it at the first meal, because the food is easier to reach. If yours is unsure, put it where the old bowl was, with the same food, and give it a day or two.

It sits on the free silicone mat, which grips the floor and catches any kibble that gets pushed out. The tilt keeps food gathered at the front, so less of it ends up over the edge.

Yes. Because it tilts, it holds less water than a flat bowl, so top it up a little more often.

The bowl is 304 stainless steel, the grade used for kitchen sinks and cookware, so daily washing won't rust it. Put it in the dishwasher or wash it with warm soapy water.

Tall, Wide, Shallow! Good for Elderly!

These bowls are clearly made of a very nice material they are heavy, dense, and you can clearly tell that they are made well. On top of that, the bowls are tall, wide, and shallow! Perfect to prevent eating discomfort and back/neck pain perfect for my elderly pet!

    Width of the bowl

These bowls truely are wide enough for my. We tried 5 others that said they were but they wernt! These are made of good quality stainless steel. I was worried about the stands being 3 legged maybe not sturdy, but the are very sturdy. These are Very nice for the money!!

    My pet love these!

These are sturdy, come with rubber you can add to the bottom of the legs. The bowls are heavy and not lightweight. Glad I purchased these after looking at so many. Before this, I was using corelle plates but the food was everywhere afterwards.

They are sturdy & well made

I have a pet 🐈 who thinks she a dog. The width makes a huge difference for keeping the not so sensitive. Plus she will actually eat and drink from them. She's so fussy, I had tried numerous other ones, she wouldn't touch it. Well made!

    Great for sensitivity

The bowls are thick, good quality, and wash well. The dishes are a great depth if your pet has sensitivity. That being said, it takes a minute to get used to getting them out of the stand and not spilling water once full. But you have to do what you’ve got to do for your pet. LOL

    14-year-old fur approved

My 14-year-old furchild likes these we both like that I can put some hot water in to warm the bowl and mix a bit of hot water with her wet food. One soaks while I use the other. I do find she pushes wet food up against the rim, but I can easily move that back to the middle of the bowl and she eats it up. She is happy, I am happy!
